"Loralai!" Paul shouted.
"Coming!" I yelled as I ran down the stairs.
"You're friend is here!" He said.
"Hey!" I said when I saw Darren standing by the front door.
"Homework?" Paul asked.
"Yeah. He's showing me how to build a bottle rocket." I said.
He laughed. "Sounds like fun. Try to be in bed by 10." He said.
"Will do." I said. "Come on up." I told Darren.
He followed me up to my room. He pulled a book out of his backpack.
"Okay." He said. He flipped through a few pages.
"Whoa, right down to business hu?" I said.
He laughed. "Yeah. . . what else would we do?"
"I don't know." I giggled. I jumped onto the bed next to him. We both layed on our stomachs next to eachother. I laughed and put my hand on his wrist. "Is that a Scooby Do watch?" I asked.
"Yeah." He said. "Anyway, here is the list of supplies you need." He pointed to the list in his book.
I giggled.
"What?"
"Nothing. You're cute." I said.
He blushed and started reading off the things you need to make the rocket. He read through all the directions and it made me sleepy. I sat up and reached over to my cd player. I pushed play and the song, 'Material Girl' started playing. I was so embarassed! I had totally forgoten that cd was in there! I turned it off quickly laughing.
"Madonna?" He asked sitting up.
"Chess club?" I asked.
"I'm no longer in it." He laughed. "Anyway, it's better to be yourself, so turn it back on."
"You don't wanna hear Madonna." I said.
"I really don't care." He said.
"Okay then. You said it." I laughed as I turned it back on.
I danced a few steps being silly and he laughed at me.
"Keep doing that." He said.
"No!" I said feeling shy.
"Yeah, dance more." He said.
"No, now I'm all embarassed." I said.
He just laughed.
I opened my bottom drawer and pulled out a bottle of Jack Daniels.
He laughed. "What the hell."
I chugged some and handed it to him.
"No thank you." He said.
"Why not?"
"We have school tomorrow." He said. "Also, that stuff is nasty."
I held it out in front of him. He rolled his eyes and took it from me. He chugged even more than I did. It hit me quickly and I couldn't stop laughing. I started dancing again and grabbed him to dance with me.
"I am not dancing." He said. "Especially to this."
After about a half hour of us drinking, we were both pretty drunk and he was dancing with me. . . to Madonna.
"You make me so dangerous." He said.
I laughed. "Dangerous?"
"Yeah." He said. I walked up close to him and put my arms around the back of his neck. He put his arms around my waist. "What are you doing?" He whispered.
"I don't know! I feel crazy! I want to like, go streaking or something!" I said excited.
"Streaking?" He asked. "You're all alone on that one."
"Skinny dipping? I haven't been in my pool yet." I said.
"Ha ha No way." He said.
"Awww. Be spontanious." I wined.
"You're a crazy girl." He said.
"I was basically locked up my whole life. I'm ready to have fun and start living." I said.
"I know, Lor. I understand that." He said softly. He was staring into my eyes like he was going to kiss me. I was kind of hoping he would, but he let go of me.
"I should get home." He said puting his books back in his backpack.
"No, stay." I said laughing. I grabbed the book out of his hand and threw it onto the floor. He looked up at me laughing.
"Stay." I said.
"Lor, I have to go." He said.
"Okay, fine." I said, very disapointed. I felt like crying. I could feel the lump in my throat. He put his backpack on his back.
"See you at school?" He asked.
"Whatever." I said.
"Are you okay?" He asked.
"Yeah." I said.
"I'm not like you, Lor." He said.
"Whatever, Darren. Just go." I said.
"Don't be mad." He said.
"Goodnight." I told him.
"Lor."
"Goodnight." I said again.
"Thank you for tonight." He said.
"Yeah."
"Okay, what's wrong?" He asked setting down his backpack.
"I like your contacts." I said smiling.
"Thanks." He said.
I just smiled.
There was an awkward silence and we were both just looking at eachoher.
"Well, I should go. Scooby Do says it's after 10." He said.
I nodded smiling.
