Chapter 22

Sarah said...

"Hey." I heard Darren say.
I looked over. I had been rushing down the hall to make it to Yearbook Class in time.
"Screw it." I sighed quietly to myself.
"What?" He asked.
"Nothing. Sorry." I smiled.
"Look." He said. "About last night. . ."
"What?" I asked. I stopped walking and leaned up against the wall of lockers behind me.
"Don't get me wrong, I. . ." He hesitated.
"I get it." I said.
"Do you?"
"You're scared." I said.
"Lor." He laughed.
"Do you like me?" I asked.
"Yes. Of course I do. It's just."
"Just what?" I interrupted with frustration.
"I fucking hate men." I said. I rushed down the hall into the bathrooms.
"Oh thank god." I said when I noticed Carla in front of the mirrors re-applying her make up.
"Hey, Lor." She said smiling.
"What is it about me?" I asked her.
"What do you mean?" She asked.
"Darren won't even sleep with me." I whispered.
"Darren?" She asked. She smiled.
"Shut up." I laughed. "Carla, this is serious."
"I'm sorry. Not laughing." She said.
"Why won't he do it?" I asked her softly.
She set down her lipgloss and turned to me. "Sweetie, a guy like that has no idea what he's doing or getting into. He must be scared to death having a girl like you after him." She said.
"So, what do I do?" I asked.
"Take it slow." She said.
"He's the one who spead things up by coming over to my place and kissing me." I said. "We would have had sex. God, Carla we were so close."
"Did he stop?" She asked.
"Jordan stopped it. He came knocking on my door." I said.
"What's going on with you and Jordan anyway?" She asked.
"I don't know." I sighed. "It's not exciting anymore. It was exciting for like a day."
"Get him alone. Tell him how. . ." She laughed.
I rolled my eyes.
"I'm sorry." She said. She took a deap breath, then got a serious look on her face. "Get him alone. Tell him how sexy he is and how sexy he makes you feel."
I nodded.
"That is if it's true." She said.
"It is."
"You have done good with him." She said. "I give you props for that. When I look at him now, it's like his self esteem has gotten like a hundred times better."
"Thanks." I smiled.
The bell rang. Carla picked up her purse and sighed. "Join me in the library?" She asked.
"Yeah." I said.
We walked to the library and sat down in a more secluded area near the Astrology section.
"Send him a text." She said.
"Why?"
"Give me your phone." She said. She smiled. "Trust me. Come on." She held out her hand. I dug through my purse and placed my cell phone into her hand. She started texting right away.
"What are you writing?" I asked quietly.
She ignored me and continued texting.
"You're welcome." She said smiling as she set it down in front of me.
"What did you write?" I asked.
"Read it." She said. She pulled a book out of her bag and started thumbing through it. I picked up my phone and went to the sent messages.

I CANT STOP THINKING BOUT U. THE OTHER NIGHT WAS AMAZING. IT MENT SO MUCH 2 ME. I WANT U SO BAD RIGHT NOW. GRRR.

"Carla!" I laughed. My heart started beating really fast.
She laughed. "Just wait and see what he writes back."
"I don't want him bad right now." I whispered.
She gave me a goofy look.
"Okay so I do. I didn't want him to know that though!" I said.
She just smiled and started reading a Chapter in her book.
I was freaking out inside for about ten minutes until I felt my phone vibrate and I realized it was a text back from Darren.

"I want you too." I said reading his message out loud.
"See!" Carla laughed.
"What do I write back?" I asked her.
"Tell him to come by eight and throw a rock at your window letting you know he's there." She said.
"Okay. . ."
"Then go grab him outside and sneak him into your room." She said.
"Oh!" I giggled. "Okay."

COME OVER AT 8? THROW A ROCK AT MY WINDOW AND I'LL COME DOWN AND SNEAK YOU IN.
