Sarah said...

"Was that Darren you snuck in last night?" Aaron asked as we pulled up in front of school.
"Excuse me?" I asked.
We all hopped out of the car. "You both snuck guys into your rooms last night. I saw them come and then leave a few hours later." He said.
"It was Jonah." Carla said.
"Jonah Stewart?" Aaron asked.
"Yeah." She said. "Don't tell anyone."
"He's a teachers aide, Carla." He told her.
"Duh. I know that, smartie." She said rudely, then walked off.
"She has really started to open up." He said. "She's actually starting to sound like my sister."
"I thought we weren't your sisters." I said.
"You're not." He said. "Was that Darren with you last night?"
"Yeah." I said.
He shook his head and had an ashamed look on his face.
"He's amazing, Aaron." I said.
Aaron slowed down as I spead up down the hall. I saw Darren puting a book in his locker. I ran up to him. "Hey you." I said smiling. He slammed his locker shut and I jumped.
"I'm moving." He said. "Next week. I'm moving to Texas."
The smile instantly left my face. "Excuse me? And you waited until now to tell me because. . .?" I said waiting for a good reason.
"I found out this morning. My Mom is being transfered to Dallas with her job." He said.
I felt a lump in my throat and I tried very hard not to cry. "Well, I guess I cheated on my boyfriend for no reason then." I said. I started to walk off and he grabbed my arm.
"I want to spend as much time with you as possible." He said.
"It doesn't work that way." I said.
"We'll date long distance." He said.
"Yeah, I don't think so." I said. He let go of me and I ran off down the stairs towards the gym. I sat down and cried.
"Lor!" I heard. It was Jordan. I stood up and he held me in his arms. "What's wrong?" He asked.
"Darren is moving next week." I sobbed.
"I'm sorry." He said.
"We were becoming good friends." I said wiping my eyes.
"I know. I'm sorry. You'll be okay though." He said. "You weren't that close yet."
I pulled away from him. "I kissed him." I said softly, still crying.
"What? Why? Why would you do that?" He asked.
"I don't know, okay?!" I said getting even more upset.
"Nice." He said. I watched him walk away. I sat there for the rest of the day, until the last bell rang. I kept my cool the whole way home, but I lost it again as soon as I got to my bedroom.
"Loralai?" I heard Carla say. I opened the door a little and she walked in. She shut it behind her. "I knew you were upset about something."
"Darren's moving next week." I said.
"Are you kidding me?" She asked.
"It pisses me off so much!" I shouted.
"I bet." She said. "Geez."
"I slept with him last night. Time stopped. It was amazing." I said.
"Wow."
"Yeah." I nodded.
"Doesn't he have any relatives here or something that he could stay with? Maybe at least until summer." She said.
I just shrugged.
"Well ask him." She said. She grabbed my phone and sent him a text message.
"Carla." I said. "It's over."
"It's not over." She said. She left the room and I heard my phone vibrate. I looked at it. It was a text from Darren.

"I would miss you too. I don't even think you realize how much. I'll see if I can stay with my Grandparents until school is over." I read out loud to myself.

I layed back onto my bed. I ended up falling asleep. I woke up an hour later to knocking on my door. I jumped up and yawned. I got up and opened the door. It was Darren.
He just shook his head no. I started crying.
"My Mom won't let me stay with my Grandparents." He said. "I'm sorry. I feel horrible."
"Did you fight for it?" I asked.
"What do you mean?" He asked.
"Did you fight for it? When your Mom told you that you couldn't stay with your Grandparents, what did you say?" I said frustrated.
"I said okay. . ." He said.
"Well, then you didn't fight for it." I said slamming the door in his face.
"Lor, what am I suppose to do?" He asked.
I opened the door. "You're suppose to tell her you met someone and that things are starting to look up for you here. Tell her how much you don't want to move." I said.
He sighed.
"Obviously what you have here isn't very important to you." I said, once again slamming the door in his face. I layed back down on my bed and he barged into the room.
"What exactly do I have here?" He asked. "A hot girl that I slept with, that's it."
"That's all I am to you?" I asked.
"We would NEVER work out as a couple." He said. "You know it."
"That is bullshit!" I shouted, starting to cry again.
"What's going on in here?" Kim asked as she walked into the room.
"I was just leaving." Darren said as he walked out of the room.
"Sweetie, what's wrong?" She asked.
